CLARA RUTH GREEN Clara Ruth Green, on Friday, October 25, 2002, one week after her 80th birthday. Born in Winnipeg, daughter of Aaron and Rose Green who had just immigrated from Russia. Clara put herself through The University of Manitoba during the depression by winning both Isbister and Sellers Scholarships four years in a row. She was active in the Drama Society, playing roles in several productions and was a member of the Belfry Club which consisted of scholarship students. She worked as a secretary for Ward Air, The Board of Grain Commissions and for her brother Sidney, until her retirement. In her later years she developed a strong interest in astronomy and became quite knowledgeable. She is survived by five brothers and sisters and their spouses, Sue Shklov, Leona Green, Leonard Green, Sidney and Shleema Green and Sylvia and Herbert Horwich - the circle has been broken. She leaves behind 10 nieces and nephews and their spouses, Arthur and Donna Green, Martin and Lang Green, Cathy and Peter Gannon, Mindy Green and Stephen McDonald, Sharon and Joe Ackerman, Janet and Jan Russell, Shane Shklov, Barbara Shklov, Adina and Chaim Livneh, Avi and Elena Horwich. She is also survived by 26 great-nieces and nephews. We wish to thank the staff at the Sharon Home for their many kindnesses during her residence there. Flowers are declined. Contributions in Claras memory may be made to the Sharon Home or to the charity of your choice.
